I would consider a tailgate mount. there are many mounts that slip on the edge of the tailgate and screw down tight. it will work great. dont to the roof thing. if you are near Ham Radio Outlet in Anahiem, go there and look at the many mounts available.

How does this all work when you don't have room for a second battery. Whey they are "at temp" do they not run enough to kill the battery overnight. Do you unplug them. Anyone out there have an ice chest they feel works well. So many of them these days have only a thin layer of foam insulation. Appreciate your comments.

Larry is right. You will be Ok with most any dual band antenna on the market. Go over to HRO in the Valley or in Anaheim and look at the antennas and mounts. Then figure out where you want to mount it and get a mount and antenna that work where you want to mount them.
