Re: Yaesu FT7800 vs 8800? Worth another $100?

Dave and Eric, thanks for your feedback, sorry it took me awhile to get back. I've looked into the dual radio feature a little, that's pretty interesting for the reasons that both of you mentioned, I can see myself taking it to that level. I do think it would be useful to designate a local repeater ...

Yaesu FT7800 vs 8800? Worth another $100?

I'm looking at a new permanent mount radio for my Landcruiser and considering the Yaesu's above. I currently have a HT Yaesu VX-5 that has done very well for me, but I want to dedicate a rig for my rig. I like Yaesu, they're built well and my experience of N=1, has been favorable. I've heard about ...

Re: Motorcycle camping 12/11/08

Thanks Tom, added to my sig line - KG6AJV. I'm anxious to see if I'm making it out, my reception was poor for most of the net, understood most of the conversation, but very staticky. I've a J-pole on the roof that I was hooked up to, some of the folks I couldn't hear so well. Wondering how I'm tx ...

Re: Motorcycle camping 12/11/08

Enjoyed the first time on the 'net tonight. Didn't get a chance to check in, not on the list and when it came time to check newbies in, the loose nut behind the mic... well, let's just say I had 'radio trouble' ;) . I'll have the dang radio fixed by next Thursday I hope. What I heard of the topic ...

Re: Just checking in!

BTW, that 80 looks like a '96. How did you find one without a sunroof? I'm the second owner, first owner special ordered a poverty pack, no sunroof, cloth interior, no cd player, no tinted windows, no 3rd seat, etc. It's the way I would have ordered one, no matter the car, I don't care for sunroofs ...

Just checking in!

Hello All, I'm new to this forum, most of my lurking time is spent on 'Mud, but this site has some great info and folks for expeditions which I intend to do more of this coming year. (really trying to justify the Mojave trail in early January!). No doubt will run into some of the same folks here as ...
