Re: Grand Staircase Escalante 2011
Thanks for the pics and report, I enjoyed them. 8-) I think I have many of the same pictures but they are in the 35mm format, which reminds me of how much I need to get back to this area. You guys remember the hassle of 35 mm film? I see the BLM has added some signage, IMO that’s a good thing to t ...

Re: November Mojave Road trip (and a few questions)
[Afton, Devil's Playground, Soda Lake areas...... How's Nipton for a starting point? IMHO those are all great areas to explore at least once. Over the last ten years some of the roads have been removed or closed, and that trend may continue. The Devil’s playground is not going to be a lot of people’ ...

Re: OpenTracker USB
Steve: I don't have much information on the Open Tracker either but I do know that we have some members who have had problems with Serial to USB connections. Yes that is the issue I was addressing. Nobody I know (as of today) has a USB tracker, so I was just trying to learn and/or get the word out ...

OpenTracker USB
Not much APRS posting around here lately, you guys still playing with it? :) A friend was telling me about this, and thought some of may have one or like to know about this. I don’t currently need one, because I have a serial port. I understand some users have software conflict when running a serial/ ...

Bar-10 ranch, Whitmore Canyon, Parashant, Arizona.
http://www.bar10.com/ I’m sure most of you have seen or know about this place, but I don’t recall any write-ups from anyone who has stopped or stayed at the Bar-10. A few weeks back we went out to camp, explore more and site-see in the Parashant area. My wife likes camping, but when I we can add a re ...

AAA’s new San Berdo map
I picked up a new AAA San Bernardino county map (now called San Bernardino Region) it now includes Las Vegas areas but doesn’t have the whole SB county as before. It dose outline the new Fort Irwin Boundary and could be helpful to explorers planning a trip toward Superior Valley North of Barstow. I k ...

Re: Found some Panasonic Toughbooks
That’s what I run for my on-board computer. Not the best deal for someone looking for a new laptop, but GREAT choice for those just running map/truck software. Very stable and no cooling vent to suck in dust. The serial port came in handy for my Agent Data Tracker. I run Ozi Explorer for mapping, ...

Re: Old Dale Mining District - Sept. 10th - 12th
There is a little blurb about all 3 Dales I wrote (must be ten years ago) on Ghost Towns dot Com

Have fun, I like that area and try to get out there every few years, but can't make it this month.
