That's awesome!!! That was the Otay (146.640) repeater he was talking on in San Diego. SPAWAR is located along the 5 freeway by the San Diego airport.

I think it would generate even more interest if they used salted tubes with margaritas spraying out instead of straight sea water

At least it would be better for those with a real "thirst" for amateur radio communications...

Unfortunately, I think my mind activated some long-dormant, recessive gene, that the evolutionary process was hoping to have eliminated by now..
