We left the OC about 7am Thursday, slabbed down to the boarder and into Mexico without incident.
A short break on the way to Ojos Negros

Setting up camp on the way to Santo Tomas. Mark's bike problems (BMW 650X) started with a high idle just before we reached camp. It was a sign of things to come.

With morning upon us, we were optimistic that bike problems were yesterdays news.

Hmmm... Javier and I waiting.... and waiting... and waiting...

Something must be wrong, the wait was getting too long. Sure enough, Mark had a head on with a truck and (unrelated) his high idle problem was back. The head on left him no worse for wear, he had pretty much stopped before impact so it was really not much more than a tip over... the high idle however...
A closer inspection in Santo Tomas found:

This is after the header had been moved off of the coolant line. It seems that at the recent 12k dealer service, the header pipe was not aligned correctly and it was resting on the coolant line. There was very little dried coolant showing which was a good sign. We had found the problem early. A little re-alighning and we would be on he road again.

Just to be safe, we (Javier) decided to put a patch on the coolant line.
