Literally, 5 minute destinations from the Riverside Area:

Mount Rubidoux's Easter Sunrise hilltop is a great "in town place that many come to on a daily "trek" to get some exercise. As much as a 3 mile up and back or a quick steep side up and back 2 miler:

Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve

Nature preserve with great walking trails and the opportunity to view a variety of Flora and Fauna. Easily accessible from the 15 Freeyway in in the Wildomar/Murrieta Area. Take the Clinton Keith exit West for about 5 miles. The visitor center is on the left. There are parking areas on the left and right hand side for a few miles.
