Looking for a place to go shooting in San Diego North County

Post by BlueFJ » Sun Dec 28, 2008 1:03 pm

I'm looking for a place to go shooting in San Diego North County. Not a range, but an outdoor area where it's free and legal to shoot. You can PM me if you don't want a lot of people knowing about it.

it's a bit north but we went to play in the snow and shoot guns at Lytle Creek. It is a range but it's outdoors and unregulated, more of a shooting area than a range. It's not the first one with the fence around it, it's the one after the dirt road begins.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that's way too far. I'm looking for something more local to Escondido.

East on the 76, North on The nate Harrison. The dirt road goes to Palomar Mountain.
A short distance up from the 76 are a few good areas. I have seen others who have told
me it's legal and common. :D
If you don't know where your going, any road will get you there.

Very cool! I know exactly where that is... I've driven up the mountain via Nate Harrison once. My buddy who I usually go shoot with lives in Valley Center, so I would be practically driving right past his house to get there. Thanks much.

Rainbow range off of the 15 in Rainbow. There are also places in Otay/jamul where you can shoot on BLM land.
