That is awesome! Did you Scuba or just snorkle/freedive for em? I miss the rock now just looking at the couple pics. We used to pick opihi off the rocks in kaneohe bay and pull a couple bugs or a Tako(octopus), those are fun, they are eight arms of fight but ya bite em between the eyes and flip em inside out with your fist. Real hunting! anyone can shoot a gun.

We were tank diving. The reef is in about 30 feet of water. I can swim pretty well, but not that well to free dive to that depth. The description you gave of diving for squid sounds completely disgusting.
