This trip was also the first outing for my new Russell PH boots. I wore them for the seven hour drive to Prescott, all day everyday during class and for the seven hour drive home. In a word... awesome.

I have a wide foot in the toe box area but "normal" width in the heal area. Something about this has always caused pain in my heals on long drives while wearing shoes. This has also allowed my heal to move around in a shoe and caused my socks to slide down into the boot/shoe and bunch up around my heal. The Russells did not have either of these problems.

My boots have the standard Huez sole which is thin. They are great for walking and jogging, offering great feel, but I do not think that I would want to run long distances in them. Which is not a problem as I did not purchase them as running shoes.

They are very very worth the price. I ordered mine around the first of the year... they take time unless you are lucky and have a very standard size foot. If you are lucky that wasy look at the special page and they oftne have premade boots for sale.

Doubt I'd be that lucky. In any event, I'm looking forward to having a custom pair of boots made to fit even if the wait is six months.

What firing range do you use in SoCal? I've been meaning to startup again. I haven't fired my pistols or rifles since I dropped out of the LAPD academy and went to law school.

Either the indoor range at Woodly and Roscoe or Angeles.

Yep, left handed. Since all the folks at Gunsite are 870 fans (Hans Vang was hanging around the class), I was a target all week for shooting a Benelli... and shooting it left handed... all week long. lol

I am waiting for the 2009 class schedule to be finalized. Next March or April should have a Pistol 250 (for my wife) and Pistol 350 (for me) at the same time.
What's a Benelli ?. (just kidding  ) Boy, that looks like a whole bunch of fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
