Hawkeye completed my drawer system last weekend after we ran Cleghorn - and the drawers look fantastic. :D
Here's the finished product:

Since my FJ is black cherry, I asked Hawkeye to use cherry wood. He did on the external walls, but the drawers are pine because wood of that thickness didn't come in cherry. It made for a cool look. There was a lot of detail that Hawkeye put into these that I didn't expect, though. The drawers are easily removable. I can remove the whole thing by simply removing 4 bolts. He ensured that the front and rear angles matched the vehicle's lines for a clean look. I had removed the plastic piece behind the seats long ago, and Hawkeye used those anchor points to mount the drawers.

At one point, the rear wall was proud of the top on one side by less than a 16th of an inch (maybe a 32nd). I said, "Is it worth fixing?" He said, "It's always worth fixing." He took it out, did some light ripping, and bam - it was flush.

The mat that was on the floor I ended up putting on top of the drawers. It fits just right, but I have to put some thought into if I want to keep it loose or make it more permanent.

Here's a view of the back wall of the drawers. Hawkeye put an angle in this piece near the bottom to match the vehicle's contour lines. It turned out pretty sweet.

Still on the way is hardware for anchors. These will have a removable component for ease of loading and unloading my cra*, uh, stuff.

Very nice cabinetry Hawkeye, impressive. Those latches were my 1st choice for my drawers but at $80.00 a set I settled for a spring loaded handle with a rotating tab style lock. Jon how much do you figure your gross vehicle weight will increase? After installing my drawers and gear I ended up having to move to OME heavies. Nice job guys!

Great looking storage unit, Hawkeye...congrats, Jon on your new edition...

How much does the system weigh ?

(As Gon2srf suggested, OME heavy rear springs will work great with the increased rear load - I have been using them since I stuffed the back of my FJ full of gear... ;) )

That's some great looking stuff. Any idea how much weight it can support on top? Can you put some anchor points on the edges to secure gear stored on top?

Yes Dave, you could install some tie-downs, is planing to do so soon. I think the system could easly hold 400-600lbs, I personaly have loaded 500lbs onto my system, there was NO flex that I noticed.
