Dave,

Thanks for the heads up. I'll try to join the net tomorrow evening, too.

I agree, besides I might want to take advantage of the testing opportunity.

Look forward to seeing you there - we had a great time at BPS last time (and a very successful testing session). We'll be setting up a ham station there, so we will be a able to demonstrate different styles of ham radio operation, s o your assistance would be appreciated if you are interested

Interested as well, I think my initial hardware budget just went up...

BPS would be nice since I'll be there anyhow for the test, I'm open to earlier though. I have no preference on location, being in the middle of nowhere I'm by default prepared to drive...

At the moment, it looks like we have about 10 people who have expressed a desire to attend the APRS session. All are welcome- just post up.

In keeping with OAUSA tradition, we will be doing the get together at the Panera Bread Restaurant in Costa Mesa. While the location is not perfect, it was a reasonable compromise in distance between the San Diego crowd and the Northern crowd. The up side is that it is about a mile or so from the beach, they have decent food, a parking lot that is big enough for us to work on the vehicles, and free wifi. And, did I mention, Larry is buying.

I propose either of the following two dates - Sunday, September 6, 2009 (the middle day of the three day holiday weekend) or Saturday, September 12, 2009. Post your preference.

Date: TBD
Time: 9:00 AM
Location: Panera Bread, 235 E 17th St, Costa Mesa, CA‎ - (949) 642-9500

I spoke to the kind folks at Panera Bread, and they will be setting up an all-you-can-drink water bar, on me, of course... ;)

I should be able to make myself available on any of those days unless work comes a callin'.

Do we have a roster somewhere with APRS callsigns and suffix or SSID?

I use KG6QPH-9 when mobile and KG6QPH-7 when on my VX-8R.

I think there is an option of Open APRS to put each other on a buddy list.

James:

At this time, no we have no such list. A good idea though. Before this get together, we should all post our ssid's for tracking purposes.

Ollie - maybe we can add these extensions to our existing amateur radio license thread.
