Hey guys:
Thanks for the kind remarks. I still have a lot of planning to do for this trip. My guess is that we will start taking sign-ups sometime in January or February. Check in every now and then to see what's going on.

Dave,
I must have missed this thread when you first posted it. I will seriously consider going if I can swing the time off from work. It looks like a great journey.
I plan to have the EFI on the PInzgauer completed and tested long before the projected time frame. I talked to my Über Pizgauer mechanic at the Mogfest about lightening and balancing the drive shaft right after the first of the year. This helps to greatly reduce the vibration and some of the noise when traveling on the Interstate. Going that far I would prefer to trailer it if arrangements could be made and someone with vehicle with enough towing capacity would be going. The Pinzgauer weighs about 4300 lbs before being loaded with camping equipment. People have driven Pinzgauers much longer distances on the highway. I expect that I'd need an extra day to reach the starting point.

I'm 90% sure I'll be able to go. I showed the photo at the beginning of this thread to my wife last night and she's definitely interested. If this happens during the 2 week school break I may bring the whole family.
