Great lens. I have thought about getting one. Once they redo it and add IS, you know they will double the price. Sean, I am all ears when it comes to photo tips. I will be at the Northshore in Dec for the competitions. We can swap info.
Regards, Steve

ARG! We used to spend most of Dec, about 3 weeks, on the North Shore. Always rented a bungalow at Ke Iki. Walking distance to the Publix, Waimea and Ehukai. Man I love it there. Haven't been in about 6 years but always had a good time. Lots of good memories with our oldest daughter when she was a toddler.ssc wrote:Great lens. I have thought about getting one. Got lucky one year and was able to shoot the Eddie. There's nothing like watching 30-40' sets rolling through the bay.
The best bang for your buck in telephoto primes is the 300/2.8. Use it with the 2x extender and you have a 600/5.6 for half the price, and half the size/weight, of the 600/4.

Ya but you take a hit with AF speed and IQ. I gave that combo a serious look as well, but didn't want to sacrifice on AF speed or image quality.smslavin wrote:The best bang for your buck in telephoto primes is the 300/2.8. Beautiful shot....

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear really bright, until they start talking
