great photos too, I love the night one with the whole canyon lit up. Oh and that big trumpet flower is Jimson. Stay cleat of that. Very halucinigenic. especially the seeds and roots.

frog.........I LOVE WHAT YOU DID TO MR HAPPY. thats great!

thats such a fun trail. looks like you had a great time. cant wait to see more pics.
Carvacre requires constant attention to detail for a smooth run. SECRET SQUIRREL missions! Ha. :D Did I mention that I highly recommend these trails? Fun stuff. When Mr. Happy comes out, you know I'm having fun. Jimson! That was the name of it. I was telling Ollie about how it was used medicinally by indigenous people.

Oh ya, Carvacre is a Medium to Difficult trail. It requires constant work on your part for a successful and smooth run. I'd reccomend having a lift for this trail and run it with a friend just in case you have a "break-down".

Friendly Disclaimer: I'm sure that another run will be going out there in the near future. No, it's not a "Bromance" either :D

Truth is that this whole trip was kind of on a whim... ;) By wife's best friend's husband is about to deploy on a ship for 6 months. This was originally scheduled as a camping trip that he asked me to take him on about a month ago. I prefer not to wheel alone so I asked Froggo to accompany us. Having seen that sic camping spot a few weeks earlier I decided to try it out. The night before the run the guy I set the run up for called and bailed on me. I said the heck with it and we went anyway. The plan was to go into AB the next day (Saturday) and run Rockhouse Canyon. We decided it was too damn hot to even attempt AB. We looked in my Wells book and decided on Corall Canyon. I plotted it in my GPS and damned if it didn't take the short route (like I asked it to) from the Banner Store and it tried to take us through the Barrett Honor Camp. That was sealed up tight so we said why not just run Carvacre instead. It was right acrossed the road.

It must have been karma... sdnative had called and left me a message on Friday night (I was out of cell reception) asking me to run Carvacre on Saturday. I never got the message but somehow fate put us on Carvacre anyhow. I guess somone wanted Froggo's tail pipe Pougkeepsied. It was kind of funny because the tip of Froggo's tail pipe had been mashed partially closed for some time. That morning before we left camp he finally took the time to open it back up only to tear it up on Carvacre permanently. :D

It's hard to tell from the pics but how many of you made it all the way up and over the ledge? I've seen rigs struggle at it :P

And thanks for invitin' us  Glad you had a good time.

Ollie and I both made it up and over. The hardest part is getting the front up unless you have a really good approach angle. Once you do that, it isn't that bad.

One thing I noticed is how nasty the trail is getting :P , and remember how tight and scratchy the brush was on the other side? It's pretty much been cleared back. No more pinstriping.

Sorry about not telling anyone. I was at dinner on Friday with my wife, and she said she had a couple of things to do on Saturday. It was at this point I decided to do a quickie run. Very last minute. It was pure chance that Ollie and Frogeye were there.

I think there was talk of an official carveacre run in June? I wouldn't mind doing it again provided the weather is good.
