Very happy to see this decision, but kind of scary that it came down to a 5-4 decision. That really puts it in perspective that if the make up of the court had just been a little different it could easily have gone the other way.

And there will probably be some new faces on the bench during the next Presidential term.

No "probably" about it. A couple of the courts more senior members have been delaying their retirement in hopes that the "right" administration will make the appointments to fill their vacancy. These judicial appointments are among the most important aspects of the presidency. Who do you want making the appointments? Or more accurately, who are you least unhappy with making the appointments?
In the upcoming presidential election, if you think your vote doesn't matter, just look how close this SC vote was.

A most impressive decision. When I heard that the majority decision was to be written by Scalia, I felt it was a winner. I just thought it would be narrowly construed. How nice to be wrong. They held to strict scrutiny, as is appropriate. We now have a decision that sets forth that the Second Amendment is an individual right. I have debated this issue for many years and been told by many folks that my position was wrong. How nice to be right. I think we shall see many other laws fall. I hope the assault weapons ban in Calif is next and with my reading of the decision, it should be overturned.
I spent an hour reading the majority today, I will review the dissents tomarrow.
