Thanks for coming out and setting up a booth. Hopefully we can do it again sometime.

By all accounts, our Amateur Radio testing was the most successful we have had to date. Congratulations to all the new hams and those who upgraded. Here are the final numbers:
19 tests given
18 people tested (we had one re-do on the test)
16 passed
3 new extras
6 new generals
7 new techs
One of the hardest jobs was staying in the testing room knowing that the toy store was mere feet away. We will be doing our next testing session at Summer Fest - details coming soon.
Thanks to our VEs and to the Bass Pro Shops for allowing us to use their facilities. Thanks also to all who helped to make this a great event.

What's most notable to me is the breakdown in license classes being tested for...Aside from the Extras, there were nearly as many General class as Tech class.

My guess it was the forthcoming change in the General class question pool.

I had a great time Saturday at the M&G - the weather held out for us, we had a huge variety of display vehicles with different configurations of off-road and communications equipment, and there were plenty of folks cruising through, asking questions about OAUSA, amateur radio, and the vehicles being shown.
On the testing side, it was quite a success, IMO. 16 new licenses achieved in a single test session - there are plenty of amateur radio clubs that aren't able to accomplish that in a year !!! Thanks to Hector for taking charge and getting the paperwork ordered and organized, both before and after the test (and there's plenty of paperwork - FCC is a government entity

), and thanks to our other VEs - Dave and Ollie.
If we keep testing at this level, the FCC might have to issue OAUSA it's own prefix
Thank you to everyone who came down, whether to display, test, or just to say hi

I got there a bit late. Someone told me that Ollie and Larry had gone in for lunch. Seemed to be quite a few folks looking about.
Cheers, Steve

Yeah, you may have something there.....I kinda' hope not. It'd be nice to think they'll show up for your sessions consistently. I don't think the newer test will be tougher, just different.
