Ollie,
Wondering if you have Anderson's on the back of that 897? I think it would be fun to put it on the air for awhile on the 15 station. Let me know.

Dave,
I've made a couple of tie-off points (cleats) for antenna halyards on the two new masts going up this year. Remind me on Friday to put it on the K6OAU mast. I think we'll put 40m on this mast as it will be the tallest (I cut mine down a bit). My newer mast is cut down less than my older one and should have 20m on it. 15m will go on my older mast.

It's been pretty quiet and the event is a week away. I feel reasonably confident we've got the stations put together. But, It wouldn't hurt to "huddle up" sometime this coming week (Monday, Tuesday...whatever works) on Skype to finalise any issues. This'll give us time to hit HRO for last minute items. I'm contemplating renting another 3k Honda gennie like last year as nothing has turned up in the way of a back up.

The 897 has the power supply on it. If we want to run it I figured we would run it off of the 120V from a generator. We could unplug it from the power supply and run it off 12VDC if we want I guess. I'm still working on another generator too. It will be a Honda 3000. ;) I'm also working on bringing some 50' sections of heavy duty extension cord.

Duly noted on the 897. Will the gennie be an inverter model?

Yes it would be. It has two 120V outlets.

The model in the picture is the 3000c. It's not an inverter model and it will be harsh on power supplies, radios, computers or other sensitive electronics.
Are you sure it's not this one?

Randy:

I will set up a Skype conference call this week.

It's the 3000c. I was going to rent it from Home Depot. I can see what else I can find.

Let me know soon Ollie. There is a rental place here in Costa Mesa that exclusively rents inverter models. I haven't checked with them yet, so I am assuming they'll have the same models.

I have a generator that I will be bringing. It is a 3500 watt non-inverter type that i use for my pop-up tent trailer.

Is there a device like a surge protector that I could plug into it that would help with electronics?
