Local camping spots, eh? How bout Laguna Mountain. But, I think it was in or near the path of some recent fires, so better check it out first. John is the best source of local camping spots and maybe he can make a suggestion.

Define "local" and what you want to do. Obviously the desert is a bit warm right now, but there is a spot above Borrego Springs that shouldn't be too bad.

Oh, and I think I'll swing by sometime in the afternoon.

Cris, is there any particular type of campground you had in mind? Primitive areas are gonna be warm out right now. Your best best is probably up in our local mountains, either in the Lagunas or Ranch Cuyamaca State Park.

I was just looking for somewhere to not have to drive home Sat night, nothing really fancy. I got some good info from Dlichterman, and have a great offer from taugust. Now I just have to make a decision.
