One more picture - After leaving the Warm Springs we quite often go out the hard way via Steel Pass and Dedeckera Canyon. This is an area where the Saline Range and the Last Chance Range of the Panamint Mountains meet creating a way through. The colors and patterns in the Last Chance Mountains are my favorite!

History and all the stories that are prevalent to this day I find fascinating. The naming convention used to name most terrain features from commonly used terms, names of people and significant events can become part of this convention. This article covers the pejorative names of some areas that have become unfit for use in today's society and rightly so but the history behind the areas could be significant to people and cultures slowly being left behind as history is constantly being rewritten. This article is a good place to learn a little bit about this phenomenon.

Did some looking and found a three page document on the Saline Valley Works that seemed to hold quite a bit of information in a one stop shop.
