KK6CTT for early check-in.

There was a time when reloading was a weekly deal but it hasn't been on that level for a long time. My last projects included helping a buddy out with the following projects:

1. One buddy had a single shot 30-30 WCF and wanted to squeeze a little more velocity out of them so rather than loading the round or flat nose "brick" bullets needed for tubular magazine safety, we put some nice spire points over some powder and they shot real nice with some good 1" groups at 100 yards. We mixed and matched power charge with OAL (overall length) backed off a few thousands from the lands...just experimented and liked the results.

2. He also had a 45-70 barrel for the same rifle. It is a lot more expensive to shot but there is nothing like a slow moving big bore cutting through the air like a football. So, we experimented with lead and and 350 grain projectiles. I can't remember what kind of accuracy we got with it but we definitely reduced the recoil and had fun shooting them.

3. Right about the time premium hunting bullets had to be "no-lead" here in CA, things had to change and about that time to save money we both worked on some hunting loads and right about that time we let the mixing and matching of components slowly dwindled down to a trickle and then...nothing.

Looking forward to hearing everyone's experience.

No reloading here! Just shooting someone else's ammo from 600-2100 yards...just fun stuff.
