One of the most lacked things that off roaders should carry is a shovel. While any shovel is better than nothing some are just better than others. Quite a few companies make combo units with different attachments like Rugged Ridge, Hi-Lift and others. The Krazy Beaver is my favorite because the handle is not to short (40 inch overall length) and well, it's mean. Cut through ice on a trail with it and more. It can be seen listed on Amazon here.

PS) I had one but somebody decided they needed it more than me. KB6MAT

BREAKING NEWS
For all you GPS users out there, we thought this might be of some interest. This is from the Feds (GSA,
https://www.gsa.europa.eu/newsroom/news ... galileo-us)
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), at a meeting on November 15, granted in part a request from the European Commission for a waiver of the FCC rules so that devices in the United States may access specific signals transmitted from the Galileo Global Navigation Satellite System.
Following this decision, consumers and industry in the U.S. will be permitted to access certain satellite signals from the Galileo system to be used in combination with the U.S. Global Positioning System (GPS), allowing them to benefit from improved availability, reliability, and resiliency of these position, navigation, and timing services, the FCC said in a statement.
Not to be outdone, the ARRL says this (
http://www.arrl.org/news/fcc-approves-u ... -in-the-us):
The FCC has granted, in part, the European Commission’s request for a waiver of Commission rules so that non-federal devices in the US may access specific signals transmitted from the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) known as Galileo.
The action means that consumers and industry in the US may access certain satellite signals from the Galileo system to augment the US Global Positioning System (GPS). The Order approved finds that the Galileo GNSS is uniquely situated with respect to the US GPS, since the two systems are interoperable and RF compatible pursuant to the 2004 European Union/United States Galileo-GPS Agreement.
Specifically, the Order permits access to two of the Galileo system’s satellite signals — the E1 signal transmitted in the 1,559 – 1,591 MHz portion of the 1,559 – 1,610 MHz Radionavigation-Satellite Service (RNSS) band, and the E5 signal transmitted in the 1,164 – 1,219 MHz portion of the 1,164 – 1,215 MHz and 1,215 – 1,240 MHz RNSS bands.

KK6CTT for an online check-in. Thank you!
Searching for a great way to have a campfire. The Bonfire and other Solo products are great piece of stainless steel workmanship. A buddy had one out at Winter Field Day 2018 and it worked great. The price however is an issue that is hard to get over. Again, great quality.

- There are two new models in the "fire pit" line; the Ranger and the Yukon.

Appleseed Project: Project Appleseed™ isn’t a gun club or a militia, nor is it a historical society. Instead, we are a non-partisan group of men and women (known as the Revolutionary War Veterans Association) who are committed to upholding the values and principles of America’s founding fathers. We use rifle marksmanship instruction as a gateway to help bring our nation’s history to life and to show that many of the values that our forefathers relied on to win our independence are still very much in demand today.
Through clinics and events, we teach rifle marksmanship and early American heritage to introduce individuals of all skill levels to the knowledge that was so crucial to the success of our nation’s founders. Aside from the fun and camaraderie of these events, the designed takeaway is a renewed sense of civic responsibility that each attendee can then implement in his or her own community. If we can reconnect enough people with the selfless civic virtue of our forefathers, we as a nation will all be better off.
Our goal is to create a nation of Riflemen. We’d love for you to join us.
