Well, so far we have 10 responses. Is that all who are interested in the style of the forum?

Where are all the folks who were making the fuss about the "look and feel" of the site ?
10 votes ??
Seems a lot of people are more interested in creating issues than trying to solve them....

I guess it really is the people that make the site, not the color.

As it should be, and as it always turns out to be, IMHO...

Thats not a very encouraging way to get people involved. Eventually people who make the fuss are going to get tired of sarcastic treatment like above, and just leave the site altogether.

I cant help but see that as a stab at a few members who tell it like it is. I see the lack of voting as a lack of participation, not because "people make the site, not the color".

A. This poll just started a few days ago. Give people time...
B. Perhaps everyone who "complained" about it never came back...
C. People want to know that they have a voice and their opinion counts, even if they are also willing to live with stuff as is.
In reviewing the choices, I found that although I don't care for the OAUSA blue because it just doesn't go with the banner and is too light and "plasticky" (this from someone who is very fond of the color blue) I do like many things about the format and readability. I definitely prefer the natural/outdoorsy colors in Avalon and SoftGreen, which I have set up as my preference because I couldn’t find many of the tools, such as response to posts, in Avalon.
To many, the old site was like a worn in, comfortable pair of jeans. Brand new jeans are stiff and uncomfortable until they have been through the wash a few times. Change is also quite difficult for most people. How can you make it easier and enjoyable?
You really do need a logo and business cards if you want to get more people on the site. The more people are on and use the site, the more people it will attract. I left a scribbled note on a black FJ (rails, lifted, bumper, ham, etc...) this morning. I would have preferred to leave a card.

Very nice reply Jodi, thanks.
I thought what Ken was doing with the poll is great idea. He is narrowing down the options to just a few and plans on making them fully functional. I really appreciate the effort, feel grateful and relieved that someone finally listened. Although the inception of this website might feel like just a short time to the board members it seems an eternity to those not involved with the development of the site. I complained early on about the "look and feel of the website", then waited a few months. I complained/suggested/asked for change again (in a nice way) and have been happy to see a response. As Jodi said many who complained probably just haven't come back. It's your house guys: You can choose to call it petty whining or you can choose to light the scented candles, paint the walls green and extend the welcome mat. JMO

bigdave, justjodi, gon2srf: yup!!!! nicely said all of you.
why the rush? i thought the poll was up until the 14th? folks need a few days to try out all the differant settings....once they figure out how to do it......like me.
only reason why i havent voted yet is: i forgot how i set my preference. i think i'm using soft green....its some kind of green....so i didnt want to vote until i figure out what i'm set at.......and i havent been online alot lately.

Good point!
If you don't know how to change your style preference, go to the user control panel and select "Board Preferences". Down the list you will find the label "My board style". Change the style and click on "Submit".
