Early check in please - Thanks - Nothing to report, except that I did stop by a place where a guy had set up a very modest Field Day set up, using his dipole antenna I think, although it looked almost like an inverted Vee the way he had it set up, and a HF radio in his pull behind trailer, or travel trailer called a Scamp. I was curious to see the station...he was using a Honda generator running on LP gas.
I don't know whether I'll be in or on the net much, as lately I've been getting time outs, and sometimes hard to get reconnected, but that might be due to the fact that I'm using a mobile hot spot for Internet access, and using Straight Talk for the ISP or provider, and I received a message, supposedly from Straight Talk, that states that I'm not supposed to be using the data as a mobile hot spot, and if the message is legitimate, then according to the message, that if I continue using the data as a mobile hot spot, that they'll disable my data, so I don't know whether I'll be able to stay connected during the net.

I was going to share a short video, of his set up, but it says that the 1.2 GB file is too large, so I can't do that.

I may be riding bike for a while this evening, unless it rains again, like it did during the early afternoon today, and even though I'll be able to hear the net, using my second floor station, with an indoor antenna, my station might not be able to hear me too well, so I'll probably just be listening to the net.

73,
Bernie

Hi,

Check me in Robert, VK2DY, in Kellyville Ridge NSW (metro Sydney).

Our Field Day here in Australia is in March, the weekend before the Autumn Equinox. Given that there are only 14,000 hams in the whole country, our is a much smaller affair.

Great example of a field day set up.

And unknown until driving home... I blew out a U-Joint on Tom's Trail run. No worries, we made it all the way to the freeway before having to be towed back to Temecula! And new RCV Ultimate CV joints are already being installed! (Any failure is just an opportunity for an upgrade).
