Side note: I used the
Darn Tough Merino wool socks, and
Icebreaker Merino wool thermals, for my treks this past December through 25 degree weather in South Korea, and 35 degree weather in Japan, as well as 75 degree temps in Taiwan...and they feel and work great. It doesn't hurt that Darn Tough makes sock for those of us with large (size 16) feet as well lol - super comfortable, the Merino wool stays warm in the cold, and comfortable when indoors or in warmer environments, too. They stay dry, don't smell, don't stretch, and wash easily...great stuff - a must have for anyone spending time outdoors, IMO

I prefer to fit in with the environment while outdoors, so garish clothing isn’t for me; I lean toward camo while outdoors. I have found clothing items at Kryptek to be reasonably high quality, high performance outdoor wear, though perhaps overpriced. Of course, if you also hunt, so much the better.
Regarding the price, once or twice per year, there are sales events with all or most items 25% off, and sometimes up to 50%. Get on their mailing list to receive notice of sales.
I found some Kryptek gloves at MidwayUSA.com for 50% off last weekend.

I mentioned CoolMax (synthetic) a few weeks ago during a product spotlight. Whatever else I’m wearing, I almost always will be wearing a CoolMax T-shirt underneath in any weather (unless I’m wearing Merino wool).

I think moisture wicking sock liners are a must, I prefer the CoolMax type. This helps the outer sock keep you warmer by assisting with wicking moisture and creating another layer of warmth. It can also help prevent blisters while hiking in cold or warm weather. The socks rub against each other, instead of your feet.
I was stationed in Alaska in -32F weather for a month. I found that merino wool thermals, socks, and glove liners worked great.
