I used the Kidde fire truck floorboard mounts for both my fire extinguisher and my CO2.

Powertank makes all different types of tank mounts, for tanks from 5lb to 25lb - and many will work with larger fire extinguishers....

It seems the back cargo area of SUVs is the best location. Just found this:

I guess any sealed container is safer stored anywhere but the passenger compartment...

I suggest you mount a fire extinguisher outside of a container - in an emergency, you'll want quick access to it, instead of having to shuffle around to get it out...

I've also been looking at extinguishers but I've had some people I work with have different items explode, not extinguishers but other pressurized items, and was wondering if this was a possible problem with them especially it a car that has been sitting in 100 + degree temperatures.
