I 15 / Cajon Pass is still closed, as of 6:00 AM

This highway information is the latest reported as of Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 06:06 .

I 15
[IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA]
IS CLOSED FROM HIGHLAND AVE /IN RANCHO CUCAMONGA/ TO THE JCT OF US 395
/IN HESPERIA/ (SAN BERNARDINO CO) - DUE TO SNOW - MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE
AN ALTERNATE ROUTE

Chatter on the radio says it has not been plowed due to some issues with power lines, there was an msnbc report of a single lane with escorts Southbound.
Major trucking, travel routes shut
In other areas on Thursday, snow shut Interstate 15 over 4,190-foot Cajon Pass east of Los Angeles. Just a single lane on the southbound side was open, as officers escorted a small stream of drivers through the pass.
The snow level has fallen to very low levels below 2000 feet, the Las Vegas Strip has several inches of snow with more on the way today.

Morning television reports indicate that there may be some escorted travel later today.

Just spoke to Ryan via pm. Not much anyone can do right now, it's going to take awhile to get the pass open and get traffic moving. The biggest problem we have is that Dave is in Victorville (above the Cajon Pass) and his rig is down by the 138, bummer. I'm going to call Dave this morning and give him an update.

I appears the Cajon pass / Barstow is open now.
I 15
[IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA]
NO TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS ARE REPORTED FOR THIS AREA.
I thought Gon2srf was going to call Dave this morning, Pam have you spoken with Dave since this morning?? I have been at work and I don't have any news updates in relation to traffic.

I tried calling gon2srf I left a message but have not heard a response yet.

It is possible he has gone out to help, but I don't know for certain.

If scott reads this or if someone knows what is up, please post so we know if they might have gotten stuck as well.

I just got off work, I had planned to get out early but it did not work out. I spoke with Ryan (McRover) today and he also could not get up there because of work I have to be at work at noon tomorrow and cannot take the chance of not making it back so I am of no help until Saturday. Ryan can come up and help recover the Expedition Friday, he lives in Devore at the bottom of the hill. I hope big dave has been proactively working on a solution.
