Why didn't you go through Oriflamme?
We just decided to head straight down into the desert.
sdnative wrote:Was Sandstone closed? How far did you go back? How were the conditions?
The weather was just great. Sunny and cool out. As for Sandstone, yeah it was closed just before where it gets really narrow. That's where we had lunch.
sdnative wrote:Where was this? I don't recognize it.
That was the rocky section after Diablo dropoff before Fish Creek. The same spot as my avatar. It looks different because I climbed up the canyon wall a bit to get the shot. We'll have to head out there again, Eric! :D

That looks like a great run! Bummer I missed it but I got to play in the snow with my daughter so I'm not too bummed! :)

You and Frogeye have nothing to complain about. What we encountered after you two bailed was simply crazy. We were mud bogging for nearly 30 minutes trying to work our way over to Fonts. I have some FJ Cabin Cam video I'll post up. I was very worried for awhile. I have to take the sound out of the video because the language would make a sailor blush.

So, where is the UFO? Is it that parachute testing thingy that is out there somewhere that I have never seen? :?

Craig, your GPX file works great in my DeLorme Topo USA program. What datum did you use. We need to get Ollie to use the same one.

Chris, I recorded the track with my Lowrance XOG. I used EasyGPS to import the data to my laptop and save it as a GPX file. I then used GPS TrackMaker to edit the GPX file. Both EasyGPS and GPS TrackMaker are free downloads!
BTW, did anyone get a shot of that UFO? If so, post it up!
