It would be possible to send and RF verification by changing a callsign on a borrowed station, but what is the point? Without having a station with text entry capability. The utility would be severely limited.

The idea would be to be able to send test messages and communicate to guys with APRS in the field when you are stuck at home or at work. DaveK was setting at work this week watching and messaging me while I was traveling to and from Mexicali.

I'm getting a page that simply says "It works!" when going to www.openaprs.net. Anybody else getting this?
BTW, Ollie, did you get my second attempt at messaging you?

Are you getting the "it works" message when you go to openaprs.net website? The truth is that the website was down for about 4 or 5 days but it is back up now and working fine.

I'm just excited my APRS messagng is finally working again !!! Thanks, Ollie for hangin out and helping me try out some changes to get it up and running properly.
Even found my tracks on APRS.fi.... :mrgreen:
