ftm-350 install questions
Re: ftm-350 install questions
Very nice Sean. You might consider speding a few extra dollars and buy the Diamond K9000 retractable mount that will clamp to a bar on your rack. Then all you have to do is push a button and the antenna will stand up or lay down. It comes in handy for a lot of things. No issues with low hanging branches or drive-thoughs, as an example.

Thanks guys.OLLIE wrote:Very nice Sean. You might consider speding a few extra dollars and buy the Diamond K9000 retractable mount that will clamp to a bar on your rack.
Still not sure about the antenna. I currently have a Diamond NR770HB with a K550 mount. The K550 doesn't seem to fit the rack all that well which is why I'm considering the NMO mount. The install also seems a little less painless.
I'm on the road for the next 3 weeks with work so I have some time to think about it. I'll take any input you guys have to offer though.

Re: ftm-350 install questions
Whew. That was quite a month. Trying to stay home for a few weeks in a row now. 2 camping trips coming up with the girls and I'm motivated to get this done as where we are going (Idyllwild and Big Bear) should be good for getting on the air.cruiserlarry wrote:Very nice...what did you decide to do with the antenna ?
Here's what I'd like to do although I can't quite figure out how they work or what size I need. A Myer's Hub. Are those similar to what you used Larry? How do they seal? What do I need to get it installed?

Glad it worked out for you Sean. The black should match the roof nicely.smslavin wrote:The truck is finally on the air. Thanks Ollie.
