Mohave Preserve for Winter Run?

Lets plan the early 2008 Mojave Preserve run here. This is not a sanctioned event. Just some freinds meeting on the Mojave Road.

Sorry, I didn't take any.

I agree, December is difficult to schedule. January or February would be great.

MLKJ Day weekend is a good time in January for those who get it off. I've found that most places are not too crowded considering it's a 3 day weekend. Probably because everyone is still recovering from the holidays.

Jan or Feb sounds great to me...

I'd like to go to Death Valley sometime early next year, too, before it gets too hot...

Oh, I'm getting excited already.... :D

I did this for the first time in the spring with a group going west to east in 2 days. The trip was promoted as an introduction to the Mojave Road. It was a great intro. However, I would not go again for less than 3 days. There are just too many cool things to see and do. We woke up to snow Sunday. It was awsome. There are some great books that really go into the history. I'm definitely interested if the timing works out.

We could do a SpringFest in Death Valley. Late April or early May is generally not too late for DV.

Keystone mine is another good one to visit as long as you're not driving an H1 or are prone to vertigo 8-) . Coming back from the mine was the only time in the Pinz where I felt like I was going to drive off the edge of the world  . If it wasn't that I had just come up that road from the other side I definitely would have been checking it out on foot. Getting past the "Hummer Filter" on the shelf road was also a little exciting.
