I like the idea but since many of the members here do not drive FJ Cruisers do you think you could start a directory here at OAUSA.net?

As always, great idea Larry.cruiserlarry wrote:I think a directory with real names, screen names, amateur license (if any), and vehicle type would be a terrific idea. Maybe even the person's e-mail address if he/she wants. I have a very difficult time coordinating screen names to real names, and this would make it much easier to get to know each other when we meet on the trail or at an event. Screen names are cute for a chat room, but a little lacking for actual social contact....![]()
Thanks Doug!BigDouggieDoug wrote:I could and definitely will.gon2srf wrote:Doug-

Elaborate please?Voodoo Blue 57 wrote: It would also be nice to have a place where run changes are posted, time changes, meeting location changes, etc. The regulars hear about the changes by word of mouth or via radio but some may arrive late or for some reason not be aware of the change until the last minute and are scrambling to get to a starting point.
So, I've got it all ready. Just wondering where I should post it. Should it be in the "Welcome to OAUSA, LLC" section?gon2srf wrote:Doug-

Chris, You've run into me last January on the Truckhaven run. It was nice meeting you then and it was nice meeting you again on Sunday.Frogeye KI6LHP wrote:
Another great idea Scott. Hey Doug, I ran into you at the Xcel Rip you off on gas, gas station. It was nice meeting you and sorry I didn't get to make the run with you guys. It looked like a kick ass one.
There were some changes to the meeting locations for some of the runs. In the material put out on the site beforehand some of the runs were planning to meet at Christmas Circle, but that was changed at the last minute once we learned that the circle was basically shut down for Borrego Days. I think it's a good suggestion to have some kind of pre-arranged system for letting people know of any changes that might occur due to unforeseen events.gon2srf wrote:Elaborate please?Voodoo Blue 57 wrote: It would also be nice to have a place where run changes are posted, time changes, meeting location changes, etc. The regulars hear about the changes by word of mouth or via radio but some may arrive late or for some reason not be aware of the change until the last minute and are scrambling to get to a starting point.

Proved your point that the directory, with frequently updated pics, is a good idea, right?
I think a chalk board or two at the group campsite with that day's run details would be helpful. Nothing big or fancy, just a basic small board near the OAUSA banner with leader, call sign, comms, meeting time, and meeting place would do the trick.Cnynrat wrote:There were some changes to the meeting locations for some of the runs. Doing this on the radio would be an easy way, so sounds like one more reason for people to get their amateur radio license.
