Oh, maybe I should go all hardcore and leave off all the doors and top on this one!

Take plenty of pics and use film or a digital that shows the color blue very well!!!

Don't forget to call the BLM and let them know when you expect to be out there. In April we were stopped by BLM agent as we crossed BLM land before entering the preserve. We had to listen to his mumbo jumbo bureaucracy (serious posturing) for a half hour before our trail leader came back with the Parks permit. Seems that you need a permit on BLM land if it's a commercial operation (which we were not) but they like to receive notification of any large groups coming through. A little Big Brother if you will. :)

"What's that sir?"

"Oh, I don't know these other folks." ;)

Really though, I'm not gonna worry about that. We can stagger the group as it come in if need be.

Do as you want, but it's just a phone call and might save you a lot of time. FYI The staggering won't help. They can see you coming from 10 miles away cause you are moving in to a vast valley as you cross into the the preserve. It's really not a big deal, the guy was nice enough. :)

Here is the contact number for the Needles BLM
Dave Roan 760-326-7033
He might be able to coordinate the Barstow BLM office too.

If not here is the contact at Barstow
Larry Blain 760-252-6041

These are the guys who handle the permits.
See you on the Trail!

Welcome to the forum, glad you came over from that Muddy place to check us out. :D If Hawkeye comes along there will be 3 80's and a Lexus in the group. If you can find time to introduce yourself, do it here. http://www.oausa.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=122

Take care.
