It looks like we have a full crew.

For all those who have signed up, please PM me with your address. As part of this run, I will be sending you a copy of Leland Fetzer's book entitled "A Good Camp."

The book provides an excellent history of the gold boom that hit the Julian and Cuyamaca area in the late 1800s. I will indicate the mines that we will be visiting in a letter that will accompany the book.

Welcome everyone.

We ran the triangle of canyons this week and it was clear that the storms of the last several months have had an impact on the trails. They were a bit more eroded than I have seen recently - a few more rocks were exposed, the trails were a bit more difficult and there were some areas that were more sandy and difficult than in the past. It is still an easy to moderate trail with the only areas of difficulty in Rodriguez and parts of Chariot. The most important thing to making it through un-scathed, will be good ground clearance. Having under carriage protection and rock rails will help.

Just a reminder - I need to have addresses for all participants who have not sent one so far. I will be mailing the book, "A good Camp", to everyone. This book provides an excellent history of the Julian and Cuyamaca mining boom of the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Dave-

I feel like I need to give up my spot, I've been there and done that and it was awesome and well my wife just hates bats. Please move someone from the waiting list into my spot. If I really want to go I'll hitch a ride with you....room on the roof rack?

I'll open up the spot. Thanks.

The roof rack is available and I'll bring plenty of bungee cords.

hey everyone going on this run, I have a question for you. I have a few friends riding along in my FJ with me and just had another friend who really wants to go tag along (ride along) ask if he could go. I dont have any more room in my FJ and I was wondering if anyone would like to offer him a seat in their rig? hes new to CA and is in the process of getting some sort of 4x4 and just wants to see what the trails are like at Anza. Please let me know if you would be willing to take him in.

thanks

Eric
