Survival situation; I have to say I was saddened to hear of yet another GPS use and travel error that could have been avoided, resulting in a death. Just reported today, 04/07/22.

Body Armor: We have not discussed body armor but it is a potential piece of personal protective gear (PPE). Ratings and cost vary widely over the full spectrum of armor options. We actually purchased a soft, level II, back pack insert, for our daughter for use when she was in school. It was good for "common" pistol calibers. It was light and felt like additional padding and not too cumbersome that she did not carry it with her as EDC.

To purify water Tincture of Iodine is another way to purify water and it can be part of the first aid kit. Two uses, one product. Common household iodine (or “tincture of iodine”). You may have iodine in your medicine cabinet or first aid kit. Add five drops of 2% tincture of iodine to each quart or liter of water that you are disinfecting.
