Wow, that was a cool piece from Leno, thanks Dave. The texter's got smoked, woohoo! What's with the outfits the Morse Code guys were wearing? They looked more like card dealers on the Mississippi River Queen than guys from a telegraph office.

Actually, they are dressed as traditional teletype operators at the train stations back when Western Union used morse code to relay messages from station to station....but maybe they played cards when business was slow.
I remember studying hard to pass the morse code test when I was going to test for my Extra license. At that time, in addition to passing the multiple choice test, you were required to pass a 20 word per minute Morse code exam. Initially it was a pain, but it became more fun as time went on - especially when studying together with others trying to pass the same test. Unfortunately, I only used code for a short time after I passed my test, so I've all but forgotten what I worked to learn. While Morse code may be going the way of the dinosaur, I hope to relearn it when time permits....

I believe morse code will always have its place. The signal can travel much farther with a lot less power. I just need to learn it now.

Morse code can travel further with less power because it can use a smaller bandwidth than voice...
I am studying "Morsel" code....you gonna finish eating that ??
