Dave,
I'm interested in going!
Do those dates include travel to and from Southern California? It will take a whole day to drive my rig to St George since I only average about 45 to 50mph including stops. Going that far I'd like to trailer it up if I can make arrangements for a trailer and a tow.

Bruce:
You're in. Yes, the dates include travel time and given the distance, we may just have to add a day or two. We'll see.
We will figure a way to work around your speed limit. No worries!

When I travel with a group I don't try to caravan on Freeways since the Pinzgauer is happier running at 55 for long periods of time. I will do 65 on 2 lane roads to avoid holding up traffic but that is generally for less than an hour. It will even hit 70 going down hill when necessary like merging onto I-15 South from the 138.
I usually meet the group where they go off road or turn on to twisty mountain roads. In the hills I've actually been known to pass 4 cylinder CJs

. It just doesn't have the sustained high speed on open road to keep up. With a Pinzgauer you definitely need to use the philosophy that it's not the destination but the journey.
It could be worse, I could be driving a stock Mog 404

.

My wife's birthday, my marriage anniversary and my birthday all fall in or dangerously close to these dates so I won't make it but I do wish you all a happy safe adventure!
