I posted this on the other forum but a day late here sorry, such an awesome monday.
I was invited by N1ntendo to go meet Ivan Stewart this morning, turns out his shop is like 10 minutes from my House. Got there about 9 am and was greeted out front, I was a bit nervous at first but as soon as I met him I realized what a kind and laid back person he is. He showed us around his shop. He had some of the trucks he won the Baja in just hanging on the walls! Then we walked around his office checking out photos and other memorabilia. Finally we got to his main office where he had a master craft racing seat that was made into an office chair. We sat down and talked for quite some time about numerous topics, He's such an interesting and charismatic dude. His wife came in and introduced herself too, another wonderful soulful person. After a while we were off to his sons shop which is about 15 minutes from his to go check out trophy trucks being built. OH MY GAWD!! some of the custom jobs going on there were just mind blowingly amazing!! Think Trophy truck with custom PIMP MY RIDE interior, Full on leather and custom everything!, then we went around the corner to see an 800+HP race truck that was nearing the final stages of assembly, I about got my shirt wet from drooling. As time went on we took some final photos, thanked them then went on our way. After that me and Daryn decided to run a trail since it was still kinda early, We ran back to my house and checked Dirtopia since I'm new to the area, We found Black canyon near Santa Ysabel. A beautiful scenic road, not technical at all but just amazing scenery, We actually stopped at one point and hiked down to a river that had fresh COLD water flowing through. We carried on down the road passing some indian res then some giant waterfalls called Washtub, the road was about an hour to an hour and a half long. We saw strange structures, old farms, A Brahma bull, several longhorns, tons of plain ol cows, lizards, frogs, birds, etc. It was a freaking awesome day!!! I'm at work so I have to post the pictures tonight. I need to wake up early more often.
