As I think most know, we have been associated with the Keller Peak Repeater Association (KPRA) since we began. KPRA is a founding sponsor for OAUSA and is the home for our Outdoor nets. Keller Peak's coverage is remarkable and includes much of Southern California.

One of the more exciting developments in Ham radio has been the Internet Radio Linking Project, known as IRLP. For OAUSA, the use of IRLP will mean that we will be able to expand our reach to just about every corner of the USA.

From the official IRLP web page (http://www.irlp.net/)
The aim of this project (IRLP)is to reliably and inexpensively link amateur radio systems without the use of RF links, leased lines, or satellites.

The IRLP uses Voice-Over-IP (VoIP) custom software and hardware. Coupled with the power of the Internet, IRLP will link your repeater site or simplex station to the world in a simple and cost effective way.
KPRA has been working for many months to put IRLP in place. Unfortunately, there have been a number of unforeseen obstacles which have delayed full implementation. In the lengthy effort to make IRLP a reality, KPRA has been working with Frank, KG6JVE, (unwiredadventures) to solve each problem as it has appeared. Dennis Hughes, the Trustee for KPRA, asked me to thank Frank for all of the time, effort and equipment that Frank has given to make IRLP happen.

Frank and Dennis, thanks for all of your hard work and contributions. When IRLP becomes operational, our Nets will be heard by much of the Southwest. Thanks again!!

Thanks, Frank, for your extra efforts to bring about IRLP for OAUSA... ;)

With Frank's assistance on IRLP, Hector's work on ARPS, we have quite a technical dept emerging on this site... 8-)

And we're up to 42 licensed amateurs listed on the OAUSA roster !!!

Frank,

Thank you for your help and contributions that will both aide in the growth of this site and expand the capabilities of what I believe to be one of the best repeater systems in SoCal. ;)

Hopefully sooner than later. Looks like some interference issues.
