"Made in Montana" Firearms?

Montana recently passed a law exempting gun manufacturers from federal gun laws when the firearms are made and retained in Montana. (Bill text.)

As long as the firearm stays in the state, it is not subject to the interstate commerce clause of the US constitution. If you buy a firearm in Montana and leave the state, how will the feds know you have a firearm from Montana?

Irrelavent.

If you are outside of Montana with the weapon you have by nature crossed a state line with the weapon and are subject to FEDGOD harassment regardless of where the weapon was built. Outside of MT, the burden of proof is on the user to prove that you have "ATF permission" to own such a weapon. ;)

What's made in Montana must stay in Montana.
