44th Annual Borrego Days will coincide with OAUSA's Borrego Fest. I might have to skip any night runs on Friday.

October 23-25
Start with the Miss Borrego pageant Friday night, then catch the big parade down Palm Canyon Sat. morning. Then play the day away with friends and family at Christmas Circle Sat. & Sun. Always a busy weekend, with lots going on in town.

Although it maybe ill titled and not historically accurate I found this video very interesting.

The "Impossible Railroad" was completed on November 15, 1919, by John D. Spreckels at the approximate cost of 18 million dollars.

Goat Canyon railroad trestle considered the tallest curved wooden trestle in the world at 180 feet tall and 750 feet across.

I got some great memories driving on those tracks when I was younger. My folks had some friends out in Ocotillo who had an old Bronco. The wheels would straddle the tracks and we'd take it back as far as we could, through the tunnels and over the trestles. They even had a train horn on it. Man that was fun!

I knew it would be old news for you San Diegan's but it's pretty cool if you have never been out there before. I've heard this is an active railway once again?

It was but its been closed down since january.
