TRAIL DESCRIPTION:
The area is a maze of deeply cut trenches and sharp ridges. Extremely narrow with tight turns, near vertical climbs and cliff-like descents. Articulation is severely tested for the average hardcore vehicle. Short wheelbased vehicles have a distinct advantage. Lockers (or A-Trac) are necessary, preferably front and rear. It is nearly impossible to follow an exact route without a guide; however, you can't really get lost for long. Just head east in any of the main washes to return to Highway 86. Slick and dangerous if wet. Don't go alone. Vehicle damage possible. A lift and undercarriage protection required.
LOGISTICS:
It is 40+ miles from the campsite to the trail head. We will drive into Borrego Springs to top off our tanks then drive the remaining 20+ miles to the trail head to air down. On the way back to camp we will be going through Borrego Springs again so we can top off our tanks on the way to the campsite.
