Just a heads up--Parts for the AR platform are in stock at most places and the prices have come back down. Seems like the demand has leveled off and/or supply has caught up.

I'm also seeing more of them available in gun stores.

Lead time for high quality uppers and other parts can take some time.

Plenty of colts--6920 and 6940's. LMT has uppers in stock. It used to be 20 weeks. Noveske uppers are available as well as most all the stripped uppers to build on. Vltor, Larue etc. I think Wes Grant at MSTN builds some incredible uppers--from a stock upper to AS CUSTOM AS IT GETS, and they are shooters. His comp works great--watch your bullet impact, but it is loud. Sure would like to see some deals on aimpoint T-1. Great sight, but now I want one on all my ar's. It's a sickness, I tell ya.

Time to build some more,

Regards, Steve

I'll check some of those places.

Do you know anyplace with any good 7.62 x 39 uppers? There are long lead times on these.

I do not have alot of knowledge regarding that round in the ar platform--keep them in my ak's. Try J&T, or spikes tactical or DPMS. Also, Sabre defense.

I will try to get a website for JT.

It looks like they have the upper you may be looking for on the front page. Good luck.

Now if ammo prices can ever come back down to reasonable levels. With the world's demand on metals, I'm not sure it will.

I hate shooting 5.56 at almost 50 cents a round. I remember seeing a pallet of Win Q3131 at a gun store in Henderson, NV in 2005. It was less than 200 bucks a case of 1000. If I only knew how prices would soon double...

Ammo is coming down, not to the levels it used to be, but at least we are seeing a reduction in the price. I use to buy 20 rounds of 5.56 for $1.49. Sure am glad I bought a few rounds 8-) and still have a couple left. We paid .50 cents for 30 round ar mags--mil spec and never even picked them up when doing mag changes. How times have changed.

I saw a case of 5.56 at a gun shop week before last for about $450 for 1000 rounds.
