A big thanks to Ollie for leading an excellent run. It's always exciting to run a trail for the first time and Ollie made it even better by having done his homework never leading us a stray and pointing out interesting facts about the area as we moved along. I really enjoyed this trail especially the diverse landscape and steep climbs. During the run I requested a little HAM jargon on the radios and the HAMS were more than happy to oblige, it was both entertaining and educational. When we reached a (unknown for now )peak we broke for lunch, there was an amazing panorama including views of Palomar Observatory, Salton Sea and beyond. After reaching the trail end in a scenic meadow we said our goodbyes to the group. Jessie and I decided to stay a while so we setup for lunch and relaxed in the gentle breeze and waning afternoon light, capping a great weekend of camping and wheeling. :D

Thanks Ollie for a beautiful run, and a great way to end a fantastic weekend. This was a scenic and entertaining trail and perfect for the large group we had (14 rigs I believe... including 2 trailers!).

What a great finish to BorregoFest! I wish it didn't have to end. The run turned out great, even with the work trucks blocking the first part of the trail.

These guys were working on the power lines and blocking the narrow trail. We had to get 14 rigs (some with trailers) turned around without getting too far off the trail. After a bit of backtracking on the highway we were back on our route.

Ollie and I took Black Mountain Road back to Ramona. Here's a historical bridge that we may not be able to drive across anymore in the future.

That bridge is cool, at least they are building the new one next to the old one instead of in place of it.
