Wow, I love the awning setup. Are you still able to close up the back of the truck with it deployed?

Nope but it tears down in seconds, the set up on it is very fast too. Since it has a folding gate it makes a nice spot to sit for lunch.

How is does it do compared to the FJ? Overall satisfied with the change?

What FJ?

Seriously, it feels more solid, it's more comfortable it has a bit more space, I can see more around me and my rear seat passengers can see (they couldn't before). It doesn't accelerate as fast as the FJC but I love it 100% more. This 80 is everything I always really wanted in the FJC and didn't get.

I took a big loss selling my FJC but once I realized I was going down the wrong path I had to correct it. I have my dream vehicle in this one.

Everytime I get in my '96 FZJ80 to haul kids around, I think, "Why aren't I taking THIS on the trail"? My 17 year old is finally diggin' the FJ and it's manual tranny; he's is driving more regularly, and I'm 'stuck' having to drive my sportscar to work most days now when I don't cycle in. His only question is, "Do I get to keep the fridge....?" hehe. The good news in all this is: the FJ80 is about to become mine again! Whooo hoooo.
