2010-04-17: Bradshaw Trail (Gold Road to La Paz)

I had the pleasure of taking my son on a trip last weekend lead by "taugust". It was a Tierra Del Sol sanctioned trip down the Bradshaw trail. or the most part, this was a group of people I'd never adventured with before. It is always great to meet new people. They were very welcoming to the new comers to their group.
The Bradsahw Trail itself is primarily just a long gravel road with some neat history on the different side trails that it has to offer. My particular favorites were Red Canyon and Augustine Pass. There was a lot of color out there. Fortunately it wasn't all brown as the desert regions can turn quite quickly. The weather was perfect too.
I left from work Friday night to pick my son up and head out to camp in Truckhaven that night. There were about eight trucks with the same idea. We were to meet and the Salton City Arco at 7:00 am for the departure to the trailhead and I didn't want to wake up at 3:00 am to make the drive from my house to make the meeting time and place on time.
Here's our campsite at Truckhaven on Friday night. We all got up early Saturday morning to drive the 3 miles to the meeting spot and top off our tanks. Here's the line up and our trail boss (taugust) giving us the safety and guidelines talk.
Here are some of the pics from along the trail... I wil
