Moving down to San Diego

Well come June 5th I'll be moving down to San Diego for work. I'll be commuting back and forth between an apartment in San Diego and my home in Union City. I'm a Red Cross volunteer so I am also switching chapters as it relates to DSHR but hope to continue to work in both SD and the ARCBA chapters when it comes to DAT and First Aid Stations. The first order of business is to install a dual band base station antenna and get a brick amplifier for my HT (FT-60R). I also want to set up emergency power so I'll look for help on that one when the time comes.

Later I hope to take my General exam in Carlsbad on the 12th of June and get a HF rig (FT-450) and try one of those 20m HF END-FEDZ antennas and toss it out the back porch into some trees. This website has really given me some great information.

What part of San Diego? If you need a resource down here let me know. I know doing anything long distance can be a pain (I had a parking ticket in Vegas once- what a mess)

Flew down to San Diego and signed my lease, stopped off at the San Diego HRO and picked up a mobile antenna. Will be driving down next week. Planning to check out PARC when I get down there as well as the OAUSA Net. Talk to you guys soon!

I'm just up the road in Solana Beach. If you need anything, feel free to ask.
