Bear Valley Trail Ride

Posted this on the other site, apparently no one's there anymore. So I'll give it a try here. Mid week trip, weather just great and nothing to do. Chuck and I headed out not really going anywhere. Pulled off at the Pine Valley exit to see if anyone was there, no bikes, nothing. I had always thought that this was for cycles only, so I never really checked it out. Everyone I spoke with said it was a bike trail. Nope! Bike trails are about 10 miles in.

We headed into the trail area expecting it to narrow in, it didn't, it just kept going. We got to a point where there was a gate which is an exit out of the area to Buckman Springs Road

We took the cycle trail instead which is a large loop through the park, see the map above.

Nice view of highway 8 from the trail. I didn't bring my GPS and didn't have a map either so we didn't see the access to Corral Canyon from where we were.

Overall the trails were great, some a little like Carve Acre but nothing too difficult. A some point it seemed we were close to Sidewinder, now that's a fun trail. I'd love to do this again. I think it's best done during the week, no bike traffic to worry about.
