TRAIL DESCRIPTION:
The area is a maze of deeply cut trenches, sharp ridges, mud hills, canyons, areas of soft sand, steep hills, tight canyons, loose sand and rocks. It may be a tough, technical trail ride for some participants, especially drivers of stock vehicles. Short wheelbased vehicles have a distinct advantage. Rear lockers (or A-Trac) are preferable. It is nearly impossible to follow an exact route without a guide; however, you can't really get lost for long. Just head east in any of the main washes to return to Highway 86. Don't go alone. Vehicle damage possible.
LOGISTICS:
It is 40+ miles from the campsite to the trail head. We will drive into Borrego Springs to top off our tanks then drive the remaining 20+ miles to the trail head to air down. On the way back to camp we will be going through Borrego Springs again so we can top off our tanks on the way to the campsite.
