Not bad. A bit too tight for my tastes. I prefer to see some of the wave either where they've been or where they're going. It puts a bit more context into the image. You could do just a tad more work on them to bring the color back a bit. B/W probably wouldn't work all that well because of the flat lighting.

It was very overcast, hence the flat bland look.
I edited these with an eye towards realistic skin tones.
I messed around a bit with the saturation but without some tedious work selecting out certain parts, it makes the skin tones turn orange.
(have you ever seen an oompaloompa surfing!)
That's alot of work to select out hair, face, hands and feet, just to make the waves look greener.

To simplify, and streamline, your editing process, I recommend you download the trial for
Lightroom. If you do, I can share some develop presets that will bring back the color but not 'oompaloompify' skin tones. I'm also more than happy to share process tips, download to print, which can sometimes be one of the more daunting learning curves to overcome.

Lightroom is what I use and it's great using it and Photoshop together. What 400 mm lens did you get?

Honestly I think the colors are fine the way they are. The skin tones, surfboards, and decals on the surfboards all look correct. That's just the way it looked out there that day. But thanks for the offer.
