I Feel The Need! (Miramar Airshow 2010)

So I went to the Miramar Airshow on Saturday.
I took over 600 shots!
Here are two just to get things going. More will come later
F22 Raptor
You can see the clouds blurred by the jet wash, and vapor forming above the wings. This was maybe 1/2 second after the start of a 9G turn.
One of the solo Blue Angels
This was about midway through a very hard turn. They didn’t say how many G’s but it must have been up there.

Three More from the F22 Raptor 9G turn.
These shots are not cropped and were taken with a fixed focal length lens. So you can see that he didn’t get that much smaller in the shot as he turned. That should give you some idea as to how tight that turn was.
The other clue is to look at the amount of vapor forming above the wings. More vapor = tighter turn.
The reason they look blurry is due to the jet wash. If you look at the top most wing tip in each shot, you’ll see it’s in focus.

ah. haha. oops. in the thread, the images came up as square. when i hit reply, they show up full size.
that turn is pretty crazy.

YOu can also tell by the contrails in this last picture. Awesome pics Braden.
